On July 2, 2020, congress sanctioned, in second debate, the bill No. 21.941 “Addition of a transitional to article 148 of law 2, Labor Code, of August 27, 1943”. Therefore, when the law is officially published, the holidays described below will be enjoyed as follows. This important change in labor law in Costa Rica will be temporary and will apply for some holidays from the years 2020 to 2024 to alleviate the economic impact suffered by the tourism sector in Costa Rica due to the spread of the novel coronavirus:
